All Girl Scouts are invited to explore Keystone Kidspace for an exclusive evening of open exploration! Join us for a special night for Girl Scouts only (ok, their troop leaders and their families are invited to play too) on Tuesday, December 14th from 6pm to 7:30pm.
Cost is $7/person, to be charged upon arrival.
Note: Free parking is available in the Smalls Field lot across the street from our main entrance.
What Is Keystone Kidspace?
Keystone Kidspace is an innovative independent nonprofit experiential learning center that recently opened in the historic armory property in the City of York. We are a hub for dynamic STEAM programming and experiences for young people and their families, focused primarily on those in elementary and middle school. Our offerings are varied, hands-on and multidisciplinary, including programs in the areas of science, engineering and the arts. Our focus is on giving kids the opportunity to work with real tools and real materials, as well as permission to make a mess and even fail (essential parts of the creative process), ultimately building skills, resilience and creative confidence. It is our belief that by creating a place that teaches a wide variety of technical and creative skills, Keystone Kidspace will build on York’s legacy of making to encourage our kids to become the next generation of makers and doers.
Our facility includes several unique learning spaces, including a large messy workshop with woodworking tools and arts supplies, a teaching kitchen equipped for cooking classes and science exploration, and a digital lab with both analog and the latest digital technology ranging from typewriters and simple circuit components to 3D printers and 3D laser cutters. Keystone Kidspace also has smaller studio spaces for programs like coding classes and digital photography workshops. Our facility is located right along the Codorus Creek, with easy access right down to the water, and we are in the process of building a native plant community garden on our property that will support the larger ecosystem in our part of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
